National Caregivers Day is an annually observed designation set aside for the third Friday in February. This year, that falls on February 19. This is a day to honor and appreciate those who provide assistance with compassion and hope to the young, the old, and the sick. These caregivers often receive little to no recognition for this work, but they do it anyway, day-in and day-out, without question.
For those of us at Adams Edge Marketing, this is a topic that touches very close to home. The company’s owner and CEO, Tara Adams, has been acting as a caregiver for her mother for years. The term “caregiver” is often applied to just those who take care of the elderly. But this misses a great deal of people who also provide support for others.
In our opinion, more people are caregivers than those who are usually recognized. If you’re a mother, you provide care and support for your children throughout their early years (and sometimes longer than that). Those of us with pets are caregivers who provide them with a shelter, nourishment, and lots of love. Regardless of who they care for, these people give of their time and often put their own lives on hold so they can put the needs of others above their own.
We at Adams Edge Marketing believe that all caregivers should be recognized for the hard work they do as well as for the physical, emotional, and financial support they provide for others.
We salute the caregivers in our own lives and the unsung numbers who are providing care for those in their lives. We ask that you join us this year in celebrating and appreciating any caregivers you may know in your own day-to-day experience.
